About
Dr. John Koziarski is double board-certified in surgery and venous & lymphatic medicine. He has been practicing as a general and vascular surgeon for years, starting in 1994 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Toledo (formerly the Medical College of Ohio) in Toledo, Ohio, where he also completed a general surgery internship and residency. During the final year of his residency, Dr. Koziarski was selected as chief resident. During this time, he also joined the United States Army Reserve, where he served eight years and achieved the rank of major while working as a general surgeon at Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning) in Georgia.
Dr. Koziarski is a member of several medical associations and societies including the American College of Surgeons, American Vein and Lymphatic Society, American Venous Forum and the Institute for Functional Medicine.
He has contributed to several publications, including “Factors associated with recurrence of varicose veins after thermal ablation: Results of the REVATA Study.”
Dr Koziarski has been flying since 1979. He is licensed to fly single- and multi-engine airplanes over land and sea, all with Instrument Ratings. He has more than 4,000 flight hours in more than 40 different aircraft. He is also a Senior Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Medical Examiner who can perform first-class, second-class and third-class medical exams.
