Dr. Carlos Gutierrez is a distinguished physician dedicated to providing exemplary patient care. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree summa cum laude from the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Camaguey in Cuba. Dr. Gutierrez completed a family medicine residency at Amalia Simoni Hospital in his hometown of Camaguey. He enhanced his clinical expertise through a medical humanitarian mission in Venezuela, providing medical care for underserved communities. He also practiced medicine as a family medicine specialist in Bogota, Colombia.

Dr. Gutierrez pursued advanced training in internal medicine, completing a residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He also completed a Venous and Lymphatic Medicine Fellowship, solidifying his knowledge in this specialized field.

With 14 years of experience, Dr. Gutierrez specializes in internal medicine and venous and lymphatic medicine. He is a specialist in chronic venous insufficiency, venous ulcers, recurrent varicose veins, spider veins, superficial venous thrombosis (SVT), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), restless leg syndrome and lymphedema.

He is skilled in various treatments including minimally invasive procedures such as ultrasound-guided endovenous thermal ablation (laser, radiofrequency), and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy with ample experience in Varithena. He also performs ambulatory phlebectomy and visual sclerotherapy.

He is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the American Vein and Lymphatic Society (AVLS). He holds certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board-eligible with the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. Additionally, he is licensed to practice in Florida and New York and holds an Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Originally from Camaguey, Cuba, Dr. Gutierrez lived in Miami, Florida, before relocating to Brooklyn, New York, to complete his training. He has since returned to Florida to continue his professional practice.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Gutierrez enjoys spending quality time with his significant other, his dog and his family. He has a passion for swimming, outdoor activities, exercising, traveling and exploring international cuisine.
